Allen Boettcher

About

Hello everyone!  My name is Allen Boettcher and welcome to my ePortfolio.  Recently I have been exploring ways to project relevant information regarding myself without the repetition of using multiple social media platforms.  I believe the ePortfolio is the solution.  My beautiful wife and I have been married for 30 years and retired from the Air Force after 27 years of service.  Currently I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a small business owner.  I am a true advocate of continual learning and passionate about enjoying the outdoors.

I have the pleasure of teaching both Under Graduate and Graduate courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for the past 12 years.   I enjoy helping students grasp new concepts and teaching has awakened a desire to mentor students and watch them flourish as they reap the benefits of the educational system. As an entrepreneur I manage an FAA contract, launched a small network marketing business, and formerly served as the Utah State Director for the Convention of States Project.

My Aeronautics career began upon entering the Air Force as a Munitions Systems Specialist (AMMO trooper), subsequently I was stationed at Sheppard AFB Texas as a Tech School Instructor, and ultimately commissioned as a Munitions/Maintenance Officer. Some of my accomplishments consisted of running a munitions area, an aircraft maintenance unit, spearheading a numbered Air Force weapons safety program and finally directing a specialized management unit on all aspects of the acquisitions logistics process for classified munitions and operations. One of my proudest moments was after the Air Force Material Command had Gallup come into to perform a Climate Assessment Survey and my organization was rated the highest on Hill Air Force Base for worker and customer satisfaction.  I retired as a Major in March of 2011.

I am a proud product of the Air Force educational system. After achieving my first Community of the Air Force Associates Degree, I went on to complete both my Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the State of New York (Regent/Excelsior) College and my second CCAF Associates degree in Instructor Systems Technology. To date, I hold a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science with The Great Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and have completed two years towards a Doctorates of Quality Systems Management with the National Graduate School.  My current certifications include an Advanced Project Management Certification through the University of Utah and two OSHA Certifications through North Carolina State.

As an avid outdoorsman, my hobbies include fishing, bow hunting, trail running, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing.
